If it sounds like we’re about to shamelessly jump on an opportunity this Mental Health Week (9-15 May) then forgive us, but we’re being 100% honest when we say that we don’t want you to feel lonely, or to ever feel like you’ve no one to turn to.
Loneliness is a significant public health issue – fact. That’s why the Mental Health Foundation have chosen to shine a spotlight on it this Mental Health Awareness Week.
It remains one of the key indicators of poor mental health, as the Foundation’s reports have shown. Being connected to other people in a way that helps us all feel valued is fundamental to protecting our mental health.
So, what role does Forepoint play?
It seems simple to say, but we really are genuinely here for you – our staff, clients, partners, suppliers.
Even though you might find yourself physically or virtually surrounded by other people, it’s still easy to experience the feeling of isolation or loneliness.
And feeling like that at work can be truly overwhelming.
It can feel like you’re carrying the burden of the entire world, not just a project. The simplest of decisions can feel like life and death, not just ‘yes’ or ‘no’. And some days just turning up feels like a battle, never mind having to face the Board.
So, whatever it is, however large or small, there’s one thing you need to know – you can find support in the most unusual of places. That’s right, we’re talking about right here.
One of our clients once described us as ‘an extension of their own team’. And it’s important that you see us as that. A team of people who really are on your side, who’ve got your back, who won’t judge you, who’ll be supportive. And, if needs be, who’ll be the critical friend you need.
Some of us know, only too well, the dire consequences of not speaking up, of not talking to someone. So please, if you need to, reach out to us. We can’t always promise to fix things, and we don’t always have all the answers, but we are good listeners – it’s part and parcel of our job.
On a mission
Here at Forepoint, we’re not only on a mission to change the world for the better, through the work that we do. We’re also on a mission to make the world a better place for those that we work with.
And that comes genuine and direct from our Forepoint heart.
Don’t suffer in silence. Please reach out to someone. And remember, our door is always open.
