“Fit for business” – JOSCAR accredited

What one thing matters most to us? Contrary to popular belief, it’s not whether there are enough donuts at the brew station. No. It’s that our clients know of our passion, commitment and determination to be one of their long-term, trusted suppliers.

That’s why, when one of our major clients in the defence industry requested that we earn the right to be registered on the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register (JOSCAR), we were only too happy to prove our “fit for business” credentials.

What’s JOSCAR?

JOSCAR has been created to help prime contractors in the defence, aerospace and security sector to source and demonstrate that suppliers are ‘fit for business’. In fact, it’s not just limited to the defence, aerospace, security and space sectors, but other sectors their members may be operating in.

It is, and we’ll give you a quick quote here: “A cross-sector collaborative solution intended to help companies reduce the time, cost, resources, and duplication currently needed to collate and validate suppliers’ information”.

It basically comprises common data being held centrally on a register, allowing the information to be easily accessed by all participating buying organisations.

The accreditation mark is valued by some of the largest purchasers and is an indication that suppliers, like Forepoint, have been through the required and detailed process, evidencing its commitment and appropriate credentials.

How do you qualify?

It’s relatively simple, but by no means easy. JOSCAR accreditation relates to the management systems and processes a company has in place. It requires an assessment of several critical areas including personnel, legal, financial, insurance, supply chain, quality, health & safety, environment, business continuity, import/export, counterfeit products, cyber security and data privacy.

With Forepoint’s long standing ISO certifications, processes, and systems already in place, we were already well placed to align to the detailed level of pre-qualification required to meet JOSCAR’s high standard.

What does this latest accreditation mean to Forepoint?

Our director Steve has supplied a few words: “I’m delighted that we’ve successfully qualified to hold yet another professional accreditation.

“Those that know our team, will be aware of how committed we are to developing and maintaining long-term relationships with our clients – relationships built on a huge amount of trust and collaboration. Achieving this latest JOSCAR accreditation not only assures existing clients and partners that the service we provide is of the highest quality, but also that we have met the required industry standards for cross-sector collaborative solutions.

“And my message to any potential clients using the JOSCAR register, is that this latest accreditation should give you the added confidence to work with Forepoint. Please contact us and let’s start to explore your comms challenges, and begin to plan how we can best support you.”
